Early detection and treatment at every age
Around age 40, it’s common for vision to change yearly. Tracking those changes with an annual eye exam can make sure your prescription is accurate. It can also help your eye doctor detect early signs of eye and other health conditions, like diabetes or high blood pressure, to help make sure problems are treated before they become serious.
Between coverage?
If you’ve lost your job or have a job that doesn’t offer benefits, you can keep VSP and still cover you and your family with a vision plan that’s similar to what you had.
Medicare & vision coverage
Ready for retirement?
If you’re retired or planning for retirement, low-cost, quality eye care should still be a priority. With an individual plan from VSP, you can still get coverage for you and your spouse that’s similar to what you had when you were employed.
Aging off your parent's plan
If you’re covered by a parent’s plan and turning 26 soon; you’re in the right place. Get coverage on your own through VSP to help you save money on your next eye exam and glasses or contacts.
Parents: If you’re a parent looking to help your child stay covered when they no longer have benefits through you, we have plans for your dependent.
Importance of vision care in your 20s
Eye and other health conditions, like diabetes, can occur at any age. Annual vision exams help your eye doctor spot early signs to make sure they’re treated before the symptoms become serious.

Very cost effective plan for my spouse and I as we have annual eye exams and both wear glasses. Claims are always processed quickly and we’ve had no bad experiences with VSP.
I am Self-Employed and my new insurance did not have vision. However they did recommend VSP. It's very affordable and I am happy with the service and products I have received under my insurance with VSP. I would highly recommend this plan.
I found VSP after I retired and didn’t have vision coverage. I also discovered that I could use the same doctor I have had for years! I love the fact that my monthly fee has never increased since I signed up and the discounts on my glasses are amazing.
Had my eyes checked out and now I’m vision healthy and I can see to drive safely at night all thanks to my VSP Individual Vision Plan. Thank you so very much!
I first learned about VSP through an employer when I lived in a bigger city, loved the service but lost the job and insurance and was in no position to sign up on my own. After getting on SSI, I moved out to a rural town and finding a place for me to get vision care that didnt break my limited income was an impossibility until I remembered VSP. With the low monthly cost of my coverage and reasonable co pay for my yearly exam and glasses, the simple personal plan is a perfect compliment to my state insurance which doesnt cover vision. VSP lets me see clearly while not breaking my bank account even in my rural town and I have recommended them to everyone I know.
I enrolled when I retired because the coverage they offered us was so poor. VSP has been very helpful. I am getting glasses and contacts pretty much every year because I have cataracts and they keep making my prescription change. They are not bad enough to have surgery yet. I have been getting a six month supply of contact lens because I have been needing a stronger prescription by then. I also am glad I have VSP because I'm able to continue with the doctor I have been seeing for years.
I have had my plan for 6 years now and I am very happy with it. I get new glasses every year and I pay less than I ever have. The exam is covered and I get progressive lenses and new frames. I am retired and for what I pay annually it is really worth it. VSP is great to have for eye care.
With VSP we are able to receive the eye care we need without breaking the bank.
I enrolled after retiring and enjoy annual eye exams and discounts on my frames. My doctors greatly appreciate that I have VSP and say they are a pleasure to work with!
My husband didn’t put my name on his VSP with his company by accident, so I would have had to wait till October for open season. I instead got my own for this year. It has been great. So easy no issues.
I had a VSP plan through my employer and when I retired, I was able to purchase an individual plan with the same benefits at an inexpensive price. Perfect! In fact, my husband and I each have the same plan.
I used VSP for my small business, it was very affordable for my employees. When I sold my business and retired I decided to continue on with VSP. I have had to purchase glasses and I will say I never would have been able to afford them without VSP insurance.
